We had so much fun teaching Sussex Elementary about our Culture for Black History Month.  Sussex Elementary is a mixed school with mostly White students.  We were able to teach them about more than slavery.  We taught them about the accomplishments that Blacks have made in the USA and Beyond. We challenged their minds with the door decorating competition and the rule of not talking about the usual go too's for Black History Month.  You know, Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, and etc... When I spoke to the teachers they said that the children loved learning about New people and the door decorating competition was awesome.  When I walked through the school it was refreshing to  see the Black and Brown children so proud of their culture.  All of the children came up to us and gave us hugs. We taught them the importance of respecting the Difference in everyone through song and dance.  We taught them things about before slavery, after slavery, and during slavery in a way where they all could understand.  Mrs. Whittman's class won the Door Decorating competition and won the Pizza party.  It was so hard to choose because everyone did awesome. We met some amazing children and they made me a beautiful thank you card that i have hanging in my office. For the Grand Finale we had so much fun.  Mia Miata Taught them an African song which caused the children to rush the stage in excitement. You would have thought you were at a Beyonce Concert. Shawna Divine played the Djembe Drum with the schools Bucket band and the children went wild. Myself and Melody taught them an African Dance, Sung Songs and told them about artifacts from Africa Provided by Sundiata, and at the end we combined the song and dance together and gave out hand made beads that bore the colors of the Pan African Flag which they all learned about.  We all had a ball.  We cant wait to do this next year.

This Years Breath Life Cipher /80's 90's party was amazing.  It started off kind of rough, but it ended with a bang.   I would like to first Thank PFK Boom and Hassan  for allowing us to use their establishment, INTEGRITY CAR WASH, for our event. As always the staff their was very hospitable and caring to our needs.  These two brothers have picked a fitting name for their car wash.  They always do amazing things for the community.

I would also like to thank the team of Alpha World Entertainment.  They did a magnificent job of transforming the car wash into a hip hop club.  They are so awesome.

I was so delighted to see the recipient herself there.  Chin-Yer Wright looked amazing as always.  Tajai Christopher was the first to do his thing. I even accompanied him on one of his songs.  Everybody loved his performance so much they even asked for an encore, and despite the fact he had another venue to go to he obliged.  Then my nephew PMO Mari blessed the stage.  Dj Noisey hooked him up with some old school 90's music for him to rap over and he did outstanding.  He had the whole place vibing. Alpha and Omega was up next with their raw hardcore lyrical raps. They had the crowd jumping with excitement. Last but not least we ended our feature session with Khali Ma. What can i say about her. Her style is so wickedly edgy.  If you missed her performance you truly missed a new era of rap. She identifies herself as the Trap Witch and that defines her style of rap perfectly. Everyone had a wonderful time.

For our open mic portion Phalyn Blessed the mic with her beautiful voice and did an epic performance.  She will definitely be a feature at our next show. We also had Alpha World Entertainment own Dame The Pioneer do his thing on the mic Acapella. Shawna Divine and i helped him with backgrounds and harmony.  All I can say is that I can't wait until his single drops.  We had a surprise performance from VIP that got the place jumping.  Even our camera man Antoine grabbed the mic when he felt the cipher bug.

We had a lot of people that was showing their talent that night but another artist that stood out to me that participated in the cipher was Juice. He was first to the mic for the cipher and he set it off right.  Before everything started DJ Noisey had the 80's and 90's music flowing.

Shawna Divine did a painting that was spectacular. She also won the best 80's 90's dress competition.

The two winners of the raffles were Ava who won the unopened copy of the Thriller Album which was donated by Fall Tresses/ Dame The Pioneer, and Moody who won the $25 visa gift card. Like i said the night was epic.  The best part of the night was being able to have so much fun while also helping a Cancer Warrior that means so much to the city of Baltimore's Artistic scene.  Chin-Yer is known for her Hip-Hop and open mic events, and now we were able to have one in her honor. I hope to see you guys next year, but until then please enjoy the pics and the recap below.

The Breathe Life Cipher was such an amazing event. We had sooo much fun raising money and also raising cancer awareness at this event. So many Baltimore artists came to bless the mic both young and mature which you will see in the video below.

We also had PFK Boom and the 300 Gangstas give a positive message to the youth. They are a local  Baltimore organization that helps the homeless, fight police brutality, and fight injustice everywhere, and we would like to thank them for their presence.

The day was filled with music, fun, food, laughter, and so much more. We would like to thank Konnexion Studios for teaming up with us on this event for this great cause.  We would also like to thank Kariz  for providing the music and also blessing us with his "Black Water" performance piece.
